Minimum effective dose of Porcilis PRRS
A trial to determine the minimum protective dose of Porcilis PRRS.
An experiment proved that there is
no difference in efficacy between doses of 103.5 and 105.5 TCID50. Therefore, even at a dose of 103.5 Porcilis PRRS is effective in vaccinated pigs.
This and all further trials in the process of registration have shown that a minimum level
of 104 TCID50 per dose is sufficient.
The results of the trial are shown in the table and graphs below.
| Intramuscular route | Intradermal route | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dose (TCID50) | Antibody titre (log2) | Total viraemia | Dose (TCID50) | Antibody titre (log2) | Total viraemia |
| 105.5 | 9.7 | 6.8 | 105.5 | 9.5 | 4.8 |
| 104.5 | 10.0 | 3.6 | 104.5 | 9.1 | 3.7 |
