Control of PRRSV infection

Since the first occurrence of PRRSV many strategies have been suggested and tried to prevent the clinical and the economic effects of PRRSV infection in breeding and finishing herds.

PRRS control in different pig herds

For both growing and finishing pigs as well as for breeding stock the following has proven effective:

• vaccination
• partial or total depopulation strategies
• test and removal procedures or acclimatisation of incoming animals
